Strata Acceptable Use Policy
This policy is part of our Terms of Service. It applies to everyone who uses Strata, and to everyone in your organisation. “Content” means anything you send through Strata, including live streams and recordings.
1. Lawful content
You must not use Strata to capture, stream, record or deliver content that:
-
is illegal where it is captured, where it is delivered, or in the United Kingdom, including child sexual abuse material, terrorist content, and content that incites violence or hatred against people because of a protected characteristic;
-
infringes anyone’s copyright, trade mark, broadcast or other rights, for example a sports event, concert or film you are not licensed to retransmit;
-
invades someone’s privacy, or records people in places where they can expect privacy, without a lawful basis or the consent the law requires;
-
is intended to harass, threaten, defame or intimidate anyone; or
-
was obtained, or is delivered, in breach of a court order or a duty of confidence.
2. Rights to what you film and where you send it
-
You must have every right and permission needed to film what you film (including any location, event or venue permission), to stream and record it, and to deliver it to each destination you configure.
-
You must follow the terms of every platform you deliver to, such as the YouTube Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
-
You must follow the terms of your mobile network operators and other connection providers, including their rules on tethering, fair use and roaming.
3. Safety
-
You must not use Strata where the loss, delay or corruption of a stream could lead to death, personal injury, or damage to property or the environment. Examples include the only video link for emergency response, medical procedures, the control of vehicles, aircraft, drones or machinery, and security monitoring that someone’s safety depends on.
-
You must not operate an encoder in a way that breaks the law, for example while driving where the law forbids it.
4. The network and the Service
You must not:
-
try to get into any account, organisation, device, recording or system you are not authorised to use, or probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service without our written permission (we welcome responsible reports of security issues at
legal@strata.stream); -
interfere with or overload the Service, our receivers or other customers’ streams, including by sending traffic to our receivers that is not a Strata stream from your own devices;
-
use Strata to send spam, malware or traffic designed to attack anyone else’s network or service;
-
get around plan limits, the spend cap, or other technical limits, or share one subscription between unrelated organisations;
-
resell, sublicense or provide Strata to others as a service without a written agreement with us; or
-
copy, reverse engineer or decompile the Strata software, except as the law allows.
5. Sanctions
You must not use Strata in, or for the benefit of anyone in, a country or region, or on behalf of a person, subject to UK, EU, US or UN sanctions that would prohibit us from providing it.
6. Reporting and enforcement
-
Report content or behaviour that breaks this policy to
abuse@strata.stream. Our Terms of Service explain what to include and how we handle reports. -
If you break this policy we may remove or disable content, stop a stream, or suspend or close your account, as the Terms of Service describe. We will tell you what we did and why, and how to challenge it. We stop a live stream only where that is necessary to end illegal content, a serious breach of this policy, or a threat to the Service.
